Dr. Torafdar is sitting on the balcony. It's pouring rain outside. It's heavy rain. He hasn't seen such rain in a long time. He feels very good watching the rain. The rainwater has started to accumulate between the gate and the stairs, and the red brick path is also getting submerged in water. When the raindrops fall into the standing water, spray is splashing everywhere, and it looks strangely beautiful. 

Seeing this splash of water reminds him of his childhood. Life was much more beautiful then. Because everything was natural. And now everything is artificial, mechanical, and complicated. In this mechanical and complicated society, people also seem somehow complicated; it's hard to understand anyone easily. He believes that this complexity will only increase in the future, and by a lot.
