Kumud was initially a bit scared, but soon bravely asked, "Who?" After a moment, she heard the voice of her lover from the opposite side of the window. In a voice mixed with eagerness, he said, "Kumudini, I have come. Can you open the window of your pride just a little for this lowly one? If I can't see your face, my relationship with sleep will be severed!" Tears glimmered in Kumud's eyes. Slowly and silently, she opened the window. As soon as the window was opened, she noticed the presence of her beloved in the dark environment. Lowering her gaze, she threw a feigned angry question at her lover, "What are you doing here so late?" 

Realizing that his beloved's anger was just a facade, a smile of delight appeared on Ravi's face. He lit the torch light and placed his hand on it to dim the brightness. Looking at Kumud's dry face in the soft light, he said, "Why haven't you shown yourself to me? You know, I've gotten used to falling asleep after seeing your gentle face. Why do you want to change that habit?" Kumud's tear-filled eyes smiled in embarrassment. The girl made an earnest attempt to hide her shame. 

"You don't have to look so much. What if people find out that you've come here in the dark of night? If they see, I will be in a lot of trouble!" 

"I am unhesitatingly ready to take that beating. If seeing you is a crime punishable by hanging, I’ll gladly put my neck in that noose. Still, I can't give up the temptation of seeing you." 

Kumud pouted and said, "You're reciting quite a good poem these days! Are you becoming a poet? If you get beaten, this ghost of coming to see me will leave your head." 

"Let the ghost come, or let Saturn fall on my forehead. If you say it, I am ready to die right now, this very moment."
