Matiur Rahman Rentu served as a trainer and organizer of freedom fighters during the Liberation War. During this time, he directly participated in the battlefield of the Liberation War. He was the in-charge of the Dhalu Youth Camp in Meghalaya, India. Under his leadership in Sector 11 of the Liberation War, numerous freedom fighters received war training. On December 10, 1971, he entered liberated Mymensingh with the Allied Forces. The gentleman was a near constant companion of Sheikh Hasina for a long time with his family. Later, a severe disagreement arose between him and the Awami League President, and he was evicted from the refuge of a very powerful woman in Bangladesh.
