Allama Muhammad Nasiruddin Al-Albani (may Allah have mercy on him) was a renowned scholar of the modern era. He was born in the Muslim-majority country of Albania in Europe. In 1914, he was born in the capital of Albania, Shkodra (now known as Tirana). His father was a learned scholar in Albania. Despite familial financial hardships, they were known for their piety and pursuit of knowledge. After the prohibition of women's veiling in Albania, Nasiruddin Al-Albani's family moved to the capital of Syria, Damascus. In Damascus, he completed his primary education at an educational institution called the 'School of Aid Charity.' Following this, outside of the conventional education system, his father provided him with a custom curriculum. Under his father's supervision, he continued to gain knowledge in subjects such as Al-Qur'an Al-Kareem, Nahw, Sarf, Tajweed, and Hanafi Fiqh, while also completing the memorization of the Qur'an. This scholar, well-versed in Islamic jurisprudence, took up watch repair as a profession.An important chapter in Nasiruddin Al-Albani’s (may Allah have mercy on him) life is his call toward Tawheed and Sunnah in Syria and the ensuing events. As a result, many opposed him, and he faced various adversities. Sheikh Al-Albani received teaching offers from various prestigious universities in Damascus, Egypt, and Syria. However, due to being busy with research work, he did not join. Allama Muhammad Nasiruddin Al-Albani's (may Allah have mercy on him) collection of books, research papers, and lectures have been published in various countries around the world and have been well-received by Islamic thinkers and scholars. Allama Muhammad Nasiruddin Al-Albani's works include 'At-Targhib wa At-Tarhib (four volumes),' 'At-Tasfiyah wa At-Tarbiya,' 'Sahih wa Daif Sunan At-Tirmidhi (four volumes),' among others. The number of books he authored exceeds one hundred. This scholar, proficient in Hadith and Fiqh, was awarded the King Faisal Prize in 1999.
